Most normal people would be exhausted right about now, but I guess when ya love what ya do, doing more of it is just invigorating.  So, yesterday evening we were at it again with The Blue Aces, recording the last single, which is sure to be a hit, of their first demo!  The song is called Dance With Me.  Now it's on to the mixing and ...

Hmm....  Another war started by another group of dissenters.  Man alive...  Seems like the story is all the same.  People who want to rule another nation end up being sparked and fed by dissenters of the nation they want to rule (think of Amalickiah)...  *sigh* The latter half of this chapter is a great reminder of what h...

It seems that this chapter is just a informational chapter on the goings on over a space of quite a few years.  Heh... That's pretty general, but there's really not any story-line, or analogy, or deep doctrine here... I did find it interesting how they spoke of using cement, and the sparseness of timber, and such like that.  I wonder wh...

Since we've opened for business, and even before, I've started to notice a sad trend in recording audio.  This is speaking extremely generally, and there have been a few people who have definitely broken the mold, but in my experience, I've noticed that the musical instrument getting the least amount of love is the bass guitar. For the most ...

Ya know...  I sure would like to know what the politics of the time were back then.  Helaman's guard was able to single-handedly save the newly-appointed chief judge, by disguise, intellect, and ultimately a firm blade straight through the heart.  Yet, the account says nothing of telling anyone what was happening during the incident....

Interesting that, again, the pride of one man seemed to be the reason of much wickedness and death.  If Paanchi would have just accepted the rule of his own brother because he was voted in by the majority, I'll bet the whole war with Coriantumr wouldn't have happened. That being bad enough, doesn't hold a candle to what happened with Kishkum...

Okay... I forgot that Alma had 63 chapters. This chapter has always just kind of made me raise an eyebrow while reading it.  I must say, I felt the Spirit while reading it, and I know it's true, but I wonder why it was written. Why did Mormon dedicate half a chapter to people "going northward"?  And what about the ships?&nbs...

Reading through Alma 60 and 61, I can vividly imagine what it would be like to live in times like those.  I imagine the cry for freedom being heard through the streets, as neighbors and friends decide to take up arms in defense of our right to worship how we want, and for the protection of our families, traditions, and way of life.  Putti...

Although I probably will never own one of these, it's just awesome that the pony cars are gettin' revved up again.  Ford is definitely gonna bring up the competition with this beast.  Bye-bye imports! http://www.thefordstory.com/smart-technology/the-mustang-5-0-is-back/ Buyah!...

Okay...  I rarely ....  well..  I never have posted something like this before in my blog, but this is getting RIDICULOUS.  This is not getting REDICULOUS.  It is getting R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S It seems like when ever I see that word spelled anywhere on the Internet, it's spelled consistently wrong, and I can't for the life ...

So I went to girls camp last week. I had a great time too! They had each tent be a family and each family had an oldest girl, I was the oldest in the whole camp so I was the big sister. That ment that I had the job to watch after all the girls in my tent, witch canged each day because two went home and then something bad happend and all 6 girls fro...

Okay, okay... I do understand that there is a ton of good that has been brought about by the scientific method, but seriously, people; is that the *only* way to prove something is true? Wow. In my opinion, we've really limited ourselves if we think that's the only way to "prove" the truth of something. I just (finally) finished D&C 76, an...

I haven't posted many videos lately, primarily because KdenLive (my video editor in Linux) wouldn't run for more than 5 seconds without completely crashing - making it impossible for me to do any video editing.  I haven't had any success with any other video editors out there (including Cinelerra), so, I've been video-less. Anyway, KdenLive re...

So, I've been working on this PDF project for awhile, and I think it might be beneficial for me to add some notes which were somewhat elusive on the net. The FDF file which is generated by PDFTK generate is encoded in UTF-16 character set - and is very hard to work with.   I found this script which solves the problem, and allows the FD...

About 2 years ago I got this hairbrained idea to use mythtv to create a computer-based full-media center for my basement home theater.  At the time, I had a sweet side-job which was paying me nicely, so I had the means to do pretty much exactly what I wanted. I had a couple of things for which I wanted to use the basement, namely 1. My Home...

Man.... I've just gotta say something. I was originally going to IM this to a good friend of mine (Steve), but decided that it was going to my blog. I recently (about 10 minutes ago) got a pop3 server going on my home-server on my gentoo box (heh.. all of my boxen are gentoo.... What...? I'm not a zealot! Serious!) Anyway.. When I finished ...

Will the craziness ever end?  I thought for sure, I'd be too busy today to do another cover, but around 4:00pm, I got bored, the kids were occupied or asleep, and my wife was reading, so...  Down to the studio I go! Hope you all like this cover.  It's one of the better ones I've done.  I missed a couple of hit-accurate fills,...

Hehe.... According to this verse, I guess even Lamanites can learn! "Stand fast in the liberty wherewith God has made us free!" Yeah... I think I'm gonna have that made into a poster, and hang it on my wall or something. The big message of this chapter, and the few preceeding it, for me, would have to be "Rely on The Lord for y...

I'm always slightly dumbfounded while pondering on the things that wicked men come up with to justify the signs given by prophets... "Oh no, we can't hit this guy who is telling us we're wicked, so he must have a devil!  GET HIM!" "Oh my!  All these miracles that are happening just as the prophets said they would - can'...

About a year ago, I wrote about some feelings I have toward caffeine.  Since then, my feelings haven't changed much. I try to limit the amount of caffeine consumption in which I partake.  You know, the whole "moderation in all things" crud... Well...  Through this year, I've tried quite a few different caffeinated bev...

I wrote for 2nd Nephi 6, that I was having a hard time understanding Isaiah.  Well...  This chapter is nothing but Isaiah, and I thought it was very beautiful. Verses 1-3 are poetry. I immediately thought of a person asking the question: "Where is the Lord now, during my time of suffering and trial?"... ...and this chapter...

I was recently reading this article about yet another virus which affects Microsoft.  In reading it, some of the comments below stated such things like, "The patch was already released, so just run your auto-updater and be done with it!".  Seems logical, right? Yeah... Actually, it does.  The exact same mechanism exists ...

I just finished reading Alma 7 and, once again, am in a state of mind which makes it hard to actually get any spiritual nourishment from it.  I'm not entirely sure what's going on with me now-a-days, but I don't really like it all that much. Anyway...  Here goes with what I got from the chapter (it being among the best chapters in the ...

Sugarstone, a signed band of Advanced Budget Studios is gonna make it big-time!  Go and show your support for Sugarstone by attending the biggest Battle of the Bands concert in Utah!  The show starts at 10:00am and goes well into the evening. Details can be found here. ...

This chapter, to me, is all about following the Spirit. Verses 3 and 5 are among the most potent in all of scripture. "Feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." "...the Holy Ghost ... will show unto you all things what ye should do." Doesn't get any clear...

Ya know... I didn't know if I was going to blog about anything this weekend, but something just happened definitely blog-worthy.  Nothing insane, but something that I think people might find interesting. You know, I've always heard that cats have nine lives, but I've always kind of been the one to keep that in check.  No, I don't shoot ...

This entry begins the documenting of my studies of the Book of Mormon in my "journal".  One of my new year's resolutions for 2008 is to read, study, and write about every chapter in the Book of Mormon.  I figured today was as good a time as any to begin. And so I begin with the Introduction of the Book of Mormon. --- I nev...

Holy moly. I'm not sure I can type everything I need to, but I'm gonna try. I gave my two-weeks today at Truenorth Academy after talking with two people at Nature's Way to make certain the offer they are making me. I'm not exactly sure where this decision will lead me, but after praying and doing some analysis of our own, Sarah and I believe t...

So, over at homerecording.com, we have quite a few discussions about, well, pretty much anything that has to do with recording audio.  One of the dicussions we recently engaged in had to do with critiquing a member's song he was working on. Of course, there were the usual suggestions on what this person should do, whether it be "bring ...
