So, I was reading this chapter when I came upon the phrase "fulness of joy" in verse 10. The phrase caught my eye primarily because it was only mentioned for the 3 Nephites who chose to stay. It was not mentioned for the others. That caused me to wonder how often the phrase "fulness of joy" is used in scripture. Come to find out,
it is used 7 times. I then did a search for the phrase, "joy is full", and that came up
six times.
I have no real clue as to whether or not this is significant, or just a coincidence of that phrase just happening to be mentioned that many times. Alma, Ammon, Nephi's family, and Jesus Christ said it (among a few others). This phrase would be worth studying in a bit more depth, to see the simiarities, or what modern prophets may have said about its meaning. "fulness of joy".. I wonder if it could have a specific meaning like "calling and election made sure" has a specific meaning. Anyway... food for thought there.
The Three Nephites. I love to ponder upon this happening. To dedicate yourself as long as the world stands, surely equalling many lifetimes, to the Kingdom of God. Feeling no pain, temptation, or sadness, except for sin, going about doing good, and whatever the Father would have you do.
heh... I wonder what it'd be like to sit down and have dinner with them. What would the conversation be? Talk about perspective.
Anyway... Another great chapter.
