So... The studio has been missing an essential piece of hardware, which, in past recordings, we've wished we had.  Well, that problem has now been remedied.  After much hum-hawwing about what should be done to get our hands on a good figure 8 microhpone, we found the CAD Trion 7000. The microphone is precisely what we needed. Afte...

Man.... I'm tired, but I felt I had to read and write about a scripture today. Alma does a great job of answering his son's question.  "Why should sinners be punished?"  All sorts of nuggets of truth can be found in this chapter. Another great chapter on the justice and mercy of God is found in Alma 34. That's about it for...

I had to post this.  We went to a ward halloween party and I went as a punk rocker (of sorts), and Sarah went as Cinderella.  Gotta love the result. Awwww yeah!...

Why on earth would I spend $109.00 on a new operating system when I could buy a friggin'  1.5 TERABYTE HARD DRIVE FOR THE SAME PRICE!?!?!?  (and that's the cheap version of Windows 7 - you know, the one you'll regret buying even if you do buy in to all this Microsoft crap.  The version that'll make you regret purchasing Windows the l...

Yesterday, we received a new shipment. Aren't they pretty?  Our new KRK RP-8 G2 Monitors not only look great, but they sound completely awesome. The instant I put the project at hand through them, it was instantly obvious what needed to be done to enhance the sound - and that is what good monitors are supposed to do. Can't wait to use...

My first question comes from the first verse.  "Why would anyone be 'worried' about the law of restoration?"  Well...  Let's take it from the potential perspective of someone in Corianton's situation.  I guess if I had sinned with a harlot while I was on my mission, I might be a bit worried that the whole "what ye...

We've been recording a bunch of drum-takes to be added to otherwise "ready-to-go" songs lately here.  The latest of which happened to be a genre I particularly don't like much - country. But, the music sounded so good for this particular song, I decided to have at it anyway - and 4 hours later, we came up with the final result. I...

So, over at homerecording.com, we have quite a few discussions about, well, pretty much anything that has to do with recording audio.  One of the dicussions we recently engaged in had to do with critiquing a member's song he was working on. Of course, there were the usual suggestions on what this person should do, whether it be "bring ...

Just thought I'd let ya all know that I did something yesterday that I haven't done in years, if I've ever done it before at all.. Turns out I had band practice for two bands on the same night.  So, beginning at 4:30, and lasting until 11:30, I was at band practice. I don't think I've ever played the drums for 7 hours straight.  My ha...

At Advanced Budget Studios, we certainly can take an idea and create a masterpiece from nothing, but what if you've already got a great recording, but you just need that certain something to make it really stand out?  In the case of the G and M Project, they already a great recording of their song, Heartbreaker, but it wasn't quite where they ...

From the beginning of this chapter, it's obvious that Christ means business when he makes covenants.  Causing entire books to be written, and then keeping 100% of everything that is written means something. I wonder why the people thought that Christ's coming "destroyed" the prophets?  Interesting. I love verse 9.  &q...

First, a question. In verse 15, Nephi states that he delights in the scriptures, and that he writes them according to the spirit.  Well...  That leads me to question whether or not he realized he was a prophet or not.  Very interesting, and possibly stupid, question (maybe he already knew about D&C 68:4). Now, the chunk of ...

I totally forgot to blog about this, but my band, TODAY, is opening for the Salt Lake City Real Soccer game!  We start playing at 5:00pm! See you there! Click here for more info.  www.mimicrocks.com...

OK, so my family had this stupid wager about when I'd be asked out right.... Well I wagered 3 months, cuz you know I'm ME. But my family all wagerd two to the three weeks, I even had some guy wager! But I just stayed here and tryed to stay focused on my work, home work, yard work, house work all that junk. I started talking to my friend who've I've...

Okay... I'm getting like crazy frustrated here... You know all those wonderful firefox extensions which allow web developers like me to work even faster and more efficiently?  Well...  They must all hate me. I've heard incredible things about Firebug and Y-Slow as far as web development tools go, but can I use them? Apparently no...

I just finished reading Alma 7 and, once again, am in a state of mind which makes it hard to actually get any spiritual nourishment from it.  I'm not entirely sure what's going on with me now-a-days, but I don't really like it all that much. Anyway...  Here goes with what I got from the chapter (it being among the best chapters in the ...

Seems that the testimony of Nephi against the people of Zarahemlah was centered around their disbelief in Christ.  Interesting that, as soon a Satan has control over a people, Christ is the first doctrine which is attacked. Also the story of the finding of the murderer of Seezoram is interesting through the eyes of the foreknowledge of God.&...

You dont have to hide or pretend who you reallly are around me ill expect you. Not your past or what other people say can change my mind. Ill be there through thick and thin all the way until the end. if your sad than im sad to. If your mad im mad to. if you say we arent friends or anything more ill understand. But ill be there with open hands....

Sorry for the outage, guys. If you tried to access ilovemyjournal.com between last Friday and today, you probably just got a "timed out" response. We had some technical difficulties, but all is well now.  No journals were affected. If you notice anything wrong with your journal, please contact me....

I've been finding it hard to write / blog lately, simply because I have no desire to write.  I've been thinking about this for a bit, so I decided to write about ... writing. In order to write  / blog, I have to have something to write about - obviously.  What isn't so obvious is, I always have something to write about. I came to...

So, with the new G+ hangout update, all of my Chrome extensions quit working ("My Hangouts", "Hangout Canopy", etc...), and I was wondering how in the heck to find hangouts to meet new people... Well, it's actually very easy. Within G+, search for #hangoutpost Then, in the drop-down right-side of the submenu, click &...

Confrontation and contention has always been an interesting thing for me.  For one, I hate it and I don't know how to deal with it.  I'm a passionate person in every sense of the word.  The moment I feel like I'm being attacked, it's everything I have to do to keep my head level and my blood from boiling.  Unfortunately, this ke...

So...  I thought I'd be going to bed, but here I am. When the Spirit directed me to come down and write down my testimony, I wasn't (and still am not) quite sure what to write.  This certainly isn't due to a lack of testimony comparative to other times I've done this, but rather quite the exact opposite.  It is because my tes...

Ya know...  I really wasn't planning on writing anything today, but ah, what the hey.  It's 5:30 and I'm not going to be doing anything else within the next 20 minutes. So, lately I've been pondering this whole "ILoveMyJournal.com" thing I've created, and where I should take it.  So far, there aren't that many users, but ...

The first thing that stood out to me this time around was the anger of Lamoni's father.  Try to place yourself in the situation Lamoni found himself in.  There are so many variables in the situation, it's hard to imagine exactly what was going on with the family undercurrents, but holy cow.  Lamoni's father drew his freaking sword an...

All the other times I've read this chapter, it's been mostly about the whole baptism thing.  Now, I don't discredit the sermon given about Christ being baptised, and the necessity for our being baptized to make it to heaven... ...But this time, something else struck me. Ya know...  I love having chats with people about the Gospel.&nbs...

We recently had the pleasure of working with The Blue Aces again, and as expected, they were stellar.  This time around, however, they recorded an acoustic song which really contrasts the versatility in their song-writing.  The song is called "One Of The Heart" and should be available soon. Lookin' forward to doing more work w...

Okay...  We just got back from a little trip up to Ryan's house so he could sign us up for a loan that'll make it so we can make quite a bit of money saving up for life insurance (too much info for one paragraph to sustain, so.. we'll leave it at that) Anyway, on our way home, it began to snow, and snow quite a bit harder than I've ever see...

Okay...  So ABS mixed a song from a band I was in called EnZign a couple of years ago, and the song hasn't been touched since.  Well, I opened it up about a week ago, and found it a bit grating on my ears.  Here, take a listen and tell me what you think of that snare drum.  Talk about piercing. Anyway...  We decided to se...

So, in Gospel Doctrine, from time to time, we talk about praying, and how we're supposed to pray all the time, and then we get the comments that it's impossible to "pray" all the time, and then someone else says that we need to be praying "always" in our hearts.  That's true, and verse 1 of this chapter is Jesus' commandmen...
