Woah... It's like been a long time since I wrote in my journal, huh? Ohwell, so I've been a little busy, okay?

Yesterday night a group of missionaries (Elder Musick, Topham, me, and Elder Reinwand) got together and we decided to go and sing. We all sing really rather well together, so we thought we could help some people feel the Spirit with the hymns of the church. We had a couple of good experiences:

One, we went to the familia Varela, an inactive family that I and Elder Tambo taught and baptized. We went in there and sang "I believe in Christ" and it brought in the Spirit quite a bit. Then we sang "Abide With Me" and added dynamics where the Spirit told us to and that really hit them hard. All during the charlas before, he never cried. None of them did. Yesterday after we sang that song, Both Enoc's and Giomar's cheeks were stained. The Spirit was VERY potent. They just thanked us over and over and told us that they had never felt such a peace before. It was quite an experience.

Another one was that we were in a taxi and as soon as we got in, we noticed that he had just finished a beer and had the end of a cigarette in his hand. We got in and he turned the music way up in his car. But! Elder Topham told him to please turn it off and that we would like to sing to Him. He did and we sang "Our Savior's Love" and it was great even while rolling down a Colombian road in a taxi! Hymns bring Spirit ANYWHERE! Anyway, after we got done singing , he said "When can you guys come visit me? I want you to visit me." We told him that we would love to and we then sang "In the world have I done any good?" ("Have I done any good") and that really brought the Spirit strongly. When we finished he said "I was thinking of quitting smoking and drinking anyway - when can you guys come over?" Then as we got out of the taxi he kept on saying "Don't you forget! Come visit me!" It was totally neat. Hymns change people. Because they bring the Spirit.

We then went and sang to a couple of investigators in Elder Reinwand's area and I was high. I couldn't keep from smiling. The Spirit totally impacted me.

Then we went and sang for a woman that has advanced cancer practically all over her body - a faithful member of the church. She was in her bed and couldn't do much, but we sang for her and it was quite an experience. A settling reverence fell in on us and the woman said she saw people dressed in white in the room. What an incredible experience.

What an incredible night. I hope that I can do that again in my life sometime in my own ward. Well... I need to study and do some other stuff, so I'll talk to ya later!
