What is going on?
Wow... About a week ago I got an email about a job offer here in Springville. The offer itself did not really have anything to do with any of the current skills I have. However, moments away from just discarding it, I decided to take the plunge and I sent an email in response. Here's the email:

To whom this may concern:

My name is Jason Jones, and I live in Springville, UT. I am a member of a Utah-based developers' group named Utah PHP Users Group, from which group I saw your employment opportunity.

I've been in professional back-end web development for approximately 4 years, and have a B.S. degree from UVSC. I excel in PHP programming, SQL, and most front-end technologies including JavaScript, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, and of course, HTML. I'm also familiar with Actionscript. I enjoy taking pride in creating code to evolve and become a well-oiled machine. I have used this pride to assist business models to excel through technology.

If my inexperience with VB scripting excludes me from this opportunity, no need to reply. If you're open to the possibilities of employing a hard-worker who knows how to use technology to further business goals unimpeded, feel free to contact me.

--Jason

That was the first email. I got an email in response, basically saying that they would be interested in seeing my resume. So, I decided to call the HR director. Talking with her put my mind at ease, as far as them contacting my current place of employment (Truenorth Academy). So, I gave her the link to my resume.

A day later I received this email:

Jason,

After reviewing your resume, we would like to meet with you for an interview. When are you available?

Andrea

We then concluded that today around noon would be a good time to have the interview.

Now, bear in mind - I was seriously considering not applying at all. The job opportunity required VB / ASP / IIS stuff (which is 100% Microsoft). I didn't really know why I should apply at all, but I did. And I went to the interview.

The interview went *excellently*. The location of "Nature's Way" is about 3 miles down the road from us in Springville here. The people with whom I interviewed were happy, inquisitive, interested, etc... It was a very good situation.

Toward the end of the interview, they told me where the interview process would go by telling me to come back for a 2nd round interview in a week. So, on Wednesday the 23rd, I'll go back and hopefully pass the 2nd round.

I came out of the interview feeling ....... for a lack of a better word, dumbfounded. I was so grateful for this opportunity! I was just kind of in a stupor for the luck I've had during my life. Truth be told, I don't believe in luck, really. I just don't want to wear out the word "blessed", because I feel that every day of my life has been blessed so much.

When I get past all my personal stupidity and wrong choices, I.... love... my life. I really feel that I'm going to be offered this job, I'm going to take it, and I'm going to be happier because of it.

Thank you, Father. I'm still striving to understand ....... my blessed life... but thank You for all You do for me.
