Here we go -a-changin'-jobs again...
PoeticIntensity

I've been strugging on how to blog about what's been going on, and I'm sick of thinking about it, so here I go. About a month ago, I was sitting at my happy job, getting paid pretty well, liking very much, for the most part, the environment which I had been blessed to work in for the past 1 1/2 years, when an email came to my inbox from the UPHPU...

Okay, people.... I'm here at Truenorth Academy and I just can't shake the feeling of anxiety I have of leaving this place. I'm gonna start my new job at Nature's Way, which by all intents and purposes, should be the job I have for the rest of my life. It pays fantastic, the people seem wonderful.... It's just that the people here at Truenorth ar...

Holy moly. I'm not sure I can type everything I need to, but I'm gonna try. I gave my two-weeks today at Truenorth Academy after talking with two people at Nature's Way to make certain the offer they are making me. I'm not exactly sure where this decision will lead me, but after praying and doing some analysis of our own, Sarah and I believe t...

Alright... This is insane. On Friday (2 days ago), we were here in California, and my cell phone was in the van. Unbeknownst to me, Andrea Clifford from Natures Way called around 11:00am, telling me that they were done with the 2nd-round interviews and wanted to talk to me concerning the web developer position. I got that message around 4:20....

What does "rich" really mean?

I've been reading the scriptures a bit lately, and I came upon a verse which intrigued me. That verse quickly made me think of this one, and this one. Let's not forget this one - that's a good one, too - verse 33 being the focus. Here's another really good one warning of the dangers of the previous entries, and further proving the point that at l...

Wow... About a week ago I got an email about a job offer here in Springville. The offer itself did not really have anything to do with any of the current skills I have. However, moments away from just discarding it, I decided to take the plunge and I sent an email in response. Here's the email: To whom this may concern: My name is Jason J...

Is "Love" really all we need?

The answer to that question in today's world is "Not on your life." However, in a perfect utopia, the answer would definitely be, to a degree, "yes". A couple of days ago, I was really gettin' down into myself and thinking about things, when I started thinking about the state of the world. Holy cow, that could open, not only a can of worms, but ...

Okay... I don't have a lot of time to write, but for goodness sake, if I didn't - I'd be doing myself a great dis-service. I just spent the past 6 hours trying to follow a simple tutorial to get MySQL authentication against Postfix + Courier so I could setup an emergency email server our company desperately needed since Friday. I woke up this mor...

Okay. I've gotta write this down for two reasons: So I don't forget what I just figured out. I hope to high heaven someone doesn't have to go through what I just did to figure something THIS SIMPLE. On with the story. Well, about 2 months ago my server started acting strangely. The most notable symptom of this strangeness was manifested by a...

Hmm....  I'm wondering how I can write this entry without offending anyone, so... if you are offended by it, I'm sorry.  What is going to be said has to be said, and it will, hopefully, enlighten at least someone. Due to this wonderful blog, I've been feeling quite pensive lately and liking the change.  Midst this change, I asked on...

It's been a while since I just sat down to write about whatever comes out of my fingers.  I now have about an hour of free time, so I think I'm gonna do just that. It's been kind of interesting that in various points in my life, I've wanted to get rid of the thoughts of doing something musical professionally, but it always seems to come back...

A little less than a month ago, my best friend's wife called me and told me she was planning a birthday party for her hubby.  Well, Scott being my best friend and all, I thought this was a fantastic idea!  After that, I didn't think too terribly much about it. A couple of days after that, I remember Scott telling me that he really want...

Within the first 5 verses of this chapter, I'm reminded again of how a person works who is truly interested in God's commandments. Lehi was commanded of the Lord to have his sons return to Jerusalem to get the plates of brass from Laban. Telling Laman and Lemuel would most certainly have some consequences in that they would automatically assu...

As an adolescent I had a dream... I had a dream of becoming a drummer for a rock-band. I just realized that it's been a month since I last wrote about the Book of Mormon.  Man, if I'm gonna finish this thing, I'm gonna have to pick up the pace!  Well...  I'm not quite as frustrated tonight as I was when I tried to do with Ubuntu, that which I am now trying with Fedora 12. To begin, quite honestly, let me say this: Without OpenOffice.org, using Linux in a professional environment (which I have been doing now for 4 straight years across 4 different companies) would have been, and would currently be, much more difficult at the very least. Those who have desk jobs, and more specifically programming jobs, know how...

I almost didn't post anything tonight..... But... I've gotta. One thing which seems to irritate me quite a bit is this phenomenon among people of my faith which drives them to make some pseudo-philosophical yet some how not quite doctrinally correct quote and then follow it by "I'm sure it's in the scriptures. I just read it. I swear. " or, "I'...

We just got back from a wonderful dinner at The Old Fisherman's Grotto on Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey California. The halibut was quite wonderful, but not nearly as good as the side-dish of clam chowder I got.  It really was fantastic. If you're ever in Monterey, CA, you simply have to get a bowl of that chowder.  It's quite amazing....

To tell you the truth, I didn't get much out of the scriptures tonight.  There was a verse from which I thought I could derive meaning. Verse 15.
